Hi, Welcome! I’m Tequirra Taylor, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping teens and young adults navigate anxiety, depression, and trauma. I provide a supportive, judgment-free space where you can feel seen, heard, and understood. Using evidence-based approaches like EMDR, I help clients uncover the root of their struggles and move toward healing and growth with compassion and care.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other in a relaxed, supportive environment. You’ll have space to share what brought you to therapy, and I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences, strengths, and goals. Together, we’ll start building a plan tailored to your needs and create a safe foundation for meaningful, ongoing work.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I’m passionate about this work because I’ve been there—I know what it’s like to struggle with mental health and feel isolated in those experiences. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to offer the supportive, affirming space I wish I had. Mental health care is self-care, and you deserve to take this time for yourself. Let’s take that first step together.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I’m best positioned to support teens and young adults who are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, or the weight of unresolved trauma. These clients may feel stuck, emotionally exhausted, or unsure how to cope with life’s challenges—but they also hold a desire to get better. I help those who are ready to take a step forward but need guidance, tools, and encouragement to do so.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I take an eclectic approach to psychotherapy, which means I draw from a variety of evidence-based modalities to best meet each client’s unique needs. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all model, I integrate techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), EMDR, mindfulness-based practices, and strengths-based approaches, depending on what aligns with the client's goals and personal experiences. This flexibility allows me to adapt our work together as your needs evolve over time. My goal is always to provide personalized, compassionate care that empowers clients to gain insight, build effective coping strategies, and make lasting, meaningful change.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past three years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

EMDR

I’m trained in EMDR therapy, a powerful method that helps people heal from difficult or traumatic experiences that may still be affecting them today. EMDR works by helping your brain process and make sense of those painful memories so they no longer feel as overwhelming or triggering. In our work together, I gently guide you through this process in a safe and supportive way. Many clients find EMDR helps them feel less stuck, more in control, and more at peace with their past. I use it alongside talk therapy to support your overall healing and emotional growth.
