Hi, my name is Dr. Steve Orma, and I'm a clinical psychologist specializing in anxiety, stress, relationships, and coaching for career and life success. I take an active, supportive approach to therapy, to help my clients empower themselves and learn practical skills and tools to resolve problems and achieve goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll get a clear understanding of why you're meeting with me and what you would like to get out of our sessions. Once we're clear on that, we will set some goals for our sessions to make them the most helpful and productive for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

A combination of really listening and understanding the client, and then providing support and guidance with effective tools and skills the client learns in session and can then apply in their daily life to solve problems and achieve goals. We don't just talk; we also actively work on solving problems and/or achieving goals important to them.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I've been using CBT for 17 years, as it has the highest success rate of any type of therapy. With CBT, we work together to achieve your goal(s). CBT is skills-based, so you will learn many tools and skills that we apply during sessions, and that you will be able to use on your own in your life.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)

If you’re having trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or both—there’s a solution. As a specialist in insomnia, I provide you with a clear understanding of how sleep works, how insomnia develops, and how to finally get past it. Whether you’ve struggled with sleep for 3 weeks or 30+ years, you can sleep well again. I will help you to implement powerful changes to your sleep behaviors, and key shifts in your thinking, to break the pattern of poor sleep, eliminate sleep anxiety, and restore quality sleep. I have the unique perspective of both a clinical psychologist and former insomnia sufferer, having overcome insomnia 10 years ago with the strategies I teach my clients. I’ve been insomnia-free ever since. And you can too.
