Hi there, I'm Michal! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My approach to therapy is strength-based. I believe that each client is the expert on their life and has the innate ability to heal themselves. I am here to support and help the client re-discover their natural and inherited inner wisdom. The client is never the problem, it is the environment and the conditioned or unhealthy defense mechanism that we learned along the way. Through reflection, analysis, and hands-on application of therapy, I have helped many clients develop new coping skills, insights, and capacity to resolve life challenges. I always tailor the therapy to each client's unique needs. I use evidence-based and empirical models that have been used and researched over time. The most common include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), EMDR, and psychodynamic theories. I like to make the client feel as comfortable as possible. I strive to create an emotionally safe place that is devoid of judgment. Attunement is key to building rapport and letting you know that you are being seen and heard exactly as you are. It would be a pleasure and honor to collaborate with you on this journey of self-healing and positive change!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session will include a comprehensive evaluation to include biopsychosocial questions. It is imperative that I get clear, rich, and extensive picture' of the client and their environment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a short-term therapy that reduces symptoms by helping people recognize unhelpful thoughts and behaviors and replace them with healthier thinking and reacting. teach you to challenge negative or irrational thoughts, eventually reducing their power over you. Techniques like cognitive restructuring can help you understand your thought patterns, the emotion behind them, and the actual reality of the situation. I can help present a more realistic perspective to help reduce cognitive distortions.

EMDR

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS therapy is based upon the idea that every person has multiple sub-personalities which can be in conflict with each other. This can lead to problematic habits and behaviors. The goal of IFS therapy is to help people identify and accept the different parts of themselves and heal the parts that are wounded. This can lead to personal growth and correcting problematic behavior patterns.
