Hi, I'm Kaitlin! Are you exhausted from trying to "do it all" and struggle to keep up with your relationships, work, and health? Do you feel stuck and disconnected from purpose in your life? Do you feel lost in old habitual patterns that no longer support the life you want to live, uncertain how to find your way out? I empower individuals to break out of the stuckness and monotony of day-to-day life and reawaken their life to greater levels of joy, purpose, and connection. Together we build new patterns of being that support the life you want to live. We'll use a holistic approach, addressing the needs of your mind, body, and soul. I integrate mindfulness, meditation, somatic psychotherapies (mind/body therapy), Eastern philosophy, Internal Family Systems, Nature, and EMDR into sessions to support you in having whole-being breakthroughs. Whether you're experiencing stress, anxiety, lgbtq+ concerns, relationship challenges, trauma, low confidence, and/or life transitions, I'm here to help. It takes a lot of strength and courage to journey toward a more fulfilling and happy life. If you’re ready to take the next step, I am here to support and empower you each step of the way!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session together is all about getting to know one another and creating a therapeutic space where you feel safe and comfortable. We’ll start with brief introductions and then dive into what is bringing you into therapy. We’ll chat about what is going well in your life, what feels challenging, and where you would (ideally) like to be at the end of working together. I’ll then create a tailored plan for helping you move from where you are now (Point A) to the live you want to live (Point B).

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths as a provider include creating safe, empathic, and grounded spaces for clients to be themselves and for their inner wisdom to emerge. I empower my clients with compassion and curiosity, trusting their ability to navigate through challenges even in their moments of self-doubt or disbelief. I often incorporate humor and a sense of levity into the healing work, believing that we all need light amidst the darkness. With over a twelve years of clinical experience, I have learned to trust the process and support my clients in doing the same.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Women on a journey of self-discovery and spiritual development, people with a history of unresolved trauma and a history of previous therapy, individuals experiencing anxiety and stress, LGBTQ+, first responders, nature lovers, and individuals looping in unhealthy relational patterns ready to create change. Typically clients that I work with have a baseline of self-understanding, mindfulness, and are ready to dive into deeper levels of their healing work.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

The foundation of my clinical work revolves around attachment needs and the types of relationships we form with ourselves, others, and the world around us. We are biologically wired for connection; however, many of us experience ruptures within relationship that lead to protective patterns later in life. We will explore the ways you relate to others, heal the unhelpful patterns, and create new ways of relating that support your best life (and healthy relationship(s)).

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) psychotherapy is a powerful and effective tool in reducing psychological distress, including post-traumatic stress injury, anxiety disorders, panic attacks, complicated grief, phobias, surgeries, trauma, and self-limiting beliefs. When a traumatic or stressful event occurs it often encodes into memory in an incomplete way; the traumatic event becomes "stuck" in the brain. As a result, people with trauma often feel like they are reliving it. The brain does not register that the event is over and may hold onto images, emotions, physical sensations, sounds, smells, and/or beliefs as if the event is happening now. These memories are often triggered in everyday life through people or circumstance, which creates a perpetuating experience that the traumatic event is happening in present time. EMDR reduces the emotional charge of the event and restores mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Though the number of EMDR sessions varies from client to client, a majority of people find significant reduction in their symptoms within a shorter amount of time compared to conventional therapies.

Somatic

Somatic psychotherapy is rooted in the mind-body connection. The deepest healing happens when we enlist the help of our mind and body. Somatic psychotherapy is a holistic approach that incorporates one's mind, body, emotions, and spirit into the therapeutic process. Somatic psychotherapy differs from traditional talk therapies by including awareness of one’s physiology as well as emotions and thoughts as they happen in session. It moves beyond conversation to include mindfulness of the present moment experience and at times physical movement to create change. Somatic psychotherapy can help deepen your connection to self and others, decrease stress, rewire fear-based patterns in the brain and body, balance the nervous system, improve your ability to regulate emotions and physical distress, and teach you tools to feel more empowered in your life.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS is an evidence-based therapy that helps individuals heal their inner protective and wounded selves. IFS strengthens one's connection to their highest version of Self and reintegrates disavowed parts of self back into harmony.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

We cannot change what we do not yet know. By integrating mindfulness-based practices and present moment awareness into each therapy session, we create possibilities for change. With curiosity, compassion, and non-judgment we explore areas of challenge, expand awareness, and cultivate wisdom to support healing from the inside out.
