Hello, hello! I am Jennifer Beers (she/her), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing telehealth therapy coast to coast in CA. I am passionate about mental health and breaking generational barriers of mental illness. I provide a safe non judgemental place where clients can become the most loved versions of themselves. I believe past experiences affect our current functioning and through integration of our whole self there can be healing. I work from a lens of unconditional positive regard for each of my clients, embracing the awkward of therapy and a space where authenticity flourishes. I feel honored to bear witness to each of my clients stories and walk alongside you in your journey. I engage clients in the evidence based practice of EMDR to support integration of self. I specialize in working with adults (18+) within the populations of LGBTQIA+, people of color, and survivors of trauma and domestic violence and/or Interpersonal violence. I have extensive experience supporting PTSD, mood disorders, women's issues, self esteem, suicide prevention and life transitions. I'm so glad you're here and can't wait to get started! What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, clients can anticipate a warm and collaborative environment designed to establish a foundation of trust and open communication. We'll begin by discussing practical matters such as confidentiality and the therapeutic process, ensuring that you feel comfortable and informed. I'll invite you to share your reasons for seeking therapy, exploring your goals, and any specific concerns or challenges you'd like to address. This initial session is an opportunity for me to get to know you better, including your background, experiences, and the factors influencing your current situation. It's also a chance for you to ask any questions you may have about the therapeutic process and express your expectations for our work together. We may discuss your personal history, relationships, and any patterns or themes that may be relevant to your goals in therapy. While the first session is an important step, it's also okay if you don't cover everything in one meeting—therapy is a gradual process, and we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. By the end of the first session, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of our therapeutic approach and a collaborative plan for moving forward. My goal is to create a supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to embark on your journey toward growth and well-being.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist lies in my unwavering commitment to creating a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I approach each session with empathy, compassion, and a genuine desire to understand the unique perspective of each individual. My ability to actively listen and attune to the nuances of a client's narrative allows for a collaborative and trusting therapeutic relationship to unfold. I draw from a diverse set of therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices, tailoring my approach to meet the specific needs and goals of each client. Additionally, my deep respect for cultural diversity and sensitivity to various identities enhances my capacity to provide inclusive and affirming support. With a foundation built on empathy, active listening, and a commitment to personalized care, I strive to empower clients on their journey toward healing and personal growth.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I'm a passionate advocate for the evidence-based practice of EMDR, a true game-changer for self-integration. This technique holds a special place in my heart because I've not only professionally supported countless individuals through EMDR, but I've also personally experienced its transformative power. Having walked my own journey with EMDR, I intimately understand its profound impact on healing and self-discovery. This firsthand experience fuels my commitment to guide others through this powerful therapeutic tool, bringing a blend of professional expertise and genuine empathy to the process.
