Hi! I’m Dara, a Holistic Psychotherapist/Certified Nutrition Counselor, who specializes in Health Psychology. I work mostly with clients struggling with anxiety, overwhelm/burnout, high performance demands, or those desiring healthy behavior change (i.e., lifestyle changes related to weight management, type 2 diabetes, or simply adopting healthier habits, etc.). With mindfulness as a foundation, I take a mind–body approach to therapy, helping clients calm their nervous system, understand their patterns, and build routines that support emotional and physical well-being. My style is warm, compassionate, and practical, blending evidence-based tools with practical strategies that fit real life. If you’re looking for a therapist that works with the whole person and helps you feel more balanced and in control, I’m here to help. **PLEASE BE ADVISED: for higher severity, those seeking crisis counseling and/or those presenting as high-risk with suicidal ideation -- I would not be the best fit (due to limited availability).
In our first session, we will get to know each other to determine if it is a good fit. I will also complete a formal evaluation along with completing a more thorough biopsychosocial history, which is important first step in building a plan together.
I specialize in "Health Psychology," as a Holistic Psychotherapist and Certified Nutrition Counselor. We may explore not just the cognitive but also your health & physiology, such as aspects of your lifestyle (i.e., how you eat, move, sleep, and mobilize/renew your energy) and how these may be contributing to your mental health & wellness.
I’m best positioned to help adults who feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, overthinking, or emotional exhaustion. Many of my clients are caring, high-functioning individuals who want to feel calm and grounded again but struggle to slow their minds or rest their bodies. My approach helps you create space to breathe, gain clarity, and rebuild balance—mentally, emotionally, and physically.
In my practice, I use Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) as a foundation because it helps clients gently shift from living on autopilot to living with awareness. Together, we slow down racing thoughts, bring calm to the body, and learn to respond to life’s challenges with greater clarity and compassion. This approach blends evidence-based tools with mindfulness to create lasting emotional balance.
The mind & body are intimately connected, so our physical health has a natural impact on our mental health. Since I am additionally trained as a Certified Nutrition Counselor, we may also explore how you eat, move, sleep, and renew your energy — as these habits directly influence mood, focus, and emotional resilience. Together, we explore practical ways to support both mental and physical balance so you can feel more grounded, energized, and balanced.
