Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Texas. I received my Masters from Midwestern State University in Texas and have been practicing for 10 years. I help adults struggling with feelings of anxiety, depression, and stress, and with navigating life transitions and changes, all with the goal of helping them to become the best versions of themselves. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression, stress, and/or self-care.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. I believe it is important to acknowledge hard, difficult, and scary feelings and thoughts rather than ignore them, and my goal is to provide a safe space for you to do that. We will then work together to process and decide how to work through and move forward despite those hard and scary emotions and thoughts. I very much like a positive and holistic approach to therapy. I think it is important to find balance in your life and it starts with improving self-esteem and good self-care. I like a person-centered approach, meaning you are in charge. We go at your speed and things should always be comfortable for you during therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with adults for the past 10+ years, I have developed many strategies to help clients identify how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected and the power in changing their thought patterns. I understand the importance of creating a safe space for clients to share what they need to share without concern for judgement. I know how important it is to empower my clients to acknowledge what they are going through and the difficulties they are experiencing while also challenging themselves to grow and move forward despite those difficulties.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past ten years. It’s helped many clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have been using ACT in my practice for 10 years. It has helped many clients learn to stop avoiding, denying, and struggling with their inner emotions and, instead, accept that these deeper feelings are appropriate responses to certain situations that should not prevent them from moving forward in their lives. With this understanding, clients begin to accept their hardships and commit to making necessary changes in their behavior, regardless of what is going on in their lives and how they feel about it.
