Hi, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in New York City. I am an immigrant. I am an English, Russian, and Ukrainian-speaking therapist. I believe in approaching psychotherapy through a holistic, collaborative perspective to foster a safe and socially just, non-judgmental, and meaningful interpersonal experience. I have experience working with adults, couples, families, and teens from diverse backgrounds.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with a few questions with questions about your background, and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a psychotherapist, I believe my greatest strengths lie in my ability to create a safe and empathetic space where clients feel heard and understood. My strong intuition and keen observational skills allow me to identify underlying issues and patterns that might not be immediately apparent. I am highly adaptable, tailoring my therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs and goals of each client. Additionally, my commitment to ongoing professional development ensures that I stay informed about the latest therapeutic techniques and research, enhancing the quality of care I provide. I enjoy using an integrative approach, with a mix of different techniques from various theories.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a psychotherapist, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge their negative thought patterns and beliefs that contribute to emotional distress. I work with them to develop coping strategies and practical skills for managing their symptoms and improving their mood. During structured sessions, I guide clients in setting and achieving specific, measurable goals for behavior change and emotional well-being.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

As a psychotherapist, I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients embrace their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or feeling guilty for them. I guide them in identifying their core values and committing to actions that align with these values, fostering a sense of purpose and fulfillment. Through mindfulness techniques, I support clients in becoming more present and engaged in their lives, improving their psychological flexibility and overall well-being.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

As a psychotherapist, I use elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients develop skills in four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. I provide individual therapy sessions where I work with clients to apply these skills to their daily lives, reducing self-destructive behaviors and improving emotional stability. Additionally, I facilitate group sessions to offer a supportive environment for clients to practice these skills and share their experiences with others facing similar challenges.

EMDR

As a psychotherapist, I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process and heal from traumatic experiences. During sessions, I guide clients through a series of guided eye movements while they recall distressing memories, which helps reduce the emotional impact of these memories. By integrating this method, I support clients in reprocessing their trauma, leading to decreased symptoms and improved emotional well-being.

Psychodynamic

As a psychotherapist, I use the psychodynamic approach to help clients explore unconscious processes and how they influence current behavior and emotions. In our sessions, I encourage clients to talk freely about their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, which helps uncover deep-seated patterns and unresolved conflicts. By bringing these underlying issues to light, I assist clients in gaining self-awareness and insight, leading to healthier relationships and emotional well-being.
