I’m Dr. Sweta Venkataramanan, a licensed clinical psychologist and the founder of Real Talk Psychological Services. I specialize in providing compassionate and personalized therapy for adults and couples, helping them navigate life’s challenges with a focus on deep emotional insight and practical solutions. My approach combines psychodynamic therapy with evidence-based practices, ensuring my clients gain both meaningful understanding and effective tools to improve their mental health and well-being.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment where they can begin to share their story and what brings them to therapy. We will explore their current challenges, background, and goals for therapy in an open and non-judgmental space. I’ll ask questions to better understand their needs and offer an initial sense of how we can work together to address those concerns. This session is also an opportunity for clients to ask any questions about the therapeutic process and to start building a comfortable and collaborative relationship with me.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider lie in my ability to blend deep emotional insight with practical, evidence-based interventions. I’m skilled at creating a safe, empathetic space where clients feel heard and understood, allowing them to explore complex emotions and experiences. My psychodynamic background helps me uncover underlying patterns, while my training in trauma-focused and cognitive-behavioral therapies equips me to offer actionable strategies for healing and growth. I’m also attuned to issues of diversity and inclusion, ensuring that my approach is culturally sensitive and tailored to each individual’s unique background and needs.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best positioned to serve adults and teenagers who are seeking a deeper understanding of their emotions, relationships, and life patterns. My clients often grapple with challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. They are individuals who value both emotional insight and practical tools to create meaningful change in their lives. I work well with clients who are open to exploring their past experiences and unconscious processes while also applying evidence-based strategies to foster growth, resilience, and healing.
