HI! My name is Courtney and I am deeply passionate about helping those in struggle find healing and self empowerment so they can start living the life they want to experience. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. I have been practicing as a therapist for 20 years working with a wide range of human struggles. I believe the power to change and grow is within us. We simply need the right conditions to create the change we are seeking. The therapeutic space is one environment where we can work together to create those conditions where healing and change can take place. I do not believe human beings are broken or "bad"... we are simply hurting and this can manifest in behaviors that protect us from feeling the weight of the pain we are in. I believe the therapeutic space is sacred and deeply meaningful. I can't wait to be part of your healing journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will begin with a brief introduction. I will ask question to gain a better understanding of who you are and what led you to reaching out and how I might be able to help you. We will decide on your goals for our work together and you will decide if you feel im a good fit for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am deeply authentic and take a candid, open approach to the work with clients. I avoid pathologizing human pain and just meet people where they are. We will explore your story both strengths and struggle together and restore hope and compassion for the person you are.

My treatment methods

Existential

Many clients come to see me to because they feel stuck...I often hear "what's the point? why am I here? what's my purpose? " My approach in therapy is to create the conditions where clients can be deeply seen, understood and reflect on how they want to show up in their life. We explore feelings of loneliness, interpersonal detachment and how to deepen the connections with ourselves and others.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I specialize in providing confidential, safe and effective Individual and Group counseling services for a wide rage of human struggles including grief and loss, depression, anxiety, life transitions, family of origin issues and addiction. I also have over 10 years of experience treating impaired and recovering professionals including Therapist, Physicians, Nurses, Attorneys, Executives etc. who are struggling with professional impairment and burnout. Therapy will start with us finding compassion for the struggles you are experiencing and exploring effective strategies to help you cope and heal so you can fully participate in your life in the way you want.
