Amanda Gilchrist is a licensed professional counselor and specializes in depression, anxiety, life transitions and trauma; using a person-centered approach to tailor therapeutic interventions to the needs of each individual based on their identified goals. Amanda pursued her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and has since worked in numerous roles within the public and private sector in South Carolina. These roles include but are not limited to policy management, trauma informed care, coordination of care among the elderly, primary/behavioral health care integration and crisis response services. Amanda’s passion for individuals’ mental well-being and pursuit of purpose has led her to private practice where she can support individuals on their journey to healing. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Prior to the initial session, clients will be asked to complete intake questionnaire and consent forms. This will allow optimal use of our time together. Our initial session is a perfect time for you to assess whether I am the provider that can best support you in your healing journey. In addition, it is my commitment in the initial session to provide each client something they can walk away with to begin their journey towards their goals immediately.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

As a clinical professional, my overall approach to working with clients is person-centered. Within this modality, I used evidenced based approaches such as EMDR, CBT, Solution-focused and motivational interviewing.
