Hello, and welcome! I'm Nicole Tries-Botti, MA, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in California. With over five years of experience in the field, I bring a unique blend of professional expertise and personal insight to my practice. My journey to becoming a therapist has been anything but conventional. I began my career in advertising and marketing, then transitioned into bookkeeping while raising my children. After navigating numerous life transitions, including becoming an empty nester and changing careers, I finally pursued my lifelong dream of becoming a therapist. As an immigrant myself, I understand firsthand the challenges of navigating language and cultural differences. My diverse background and life experiences have equipped me with a deep understanding of the complexities of human relationships and the importance of cultural sensitivity in therapy. In our sessions, I provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space for individuals, couples, and families to explore their challenges, gain insight, and work towards positive change. Drawing from my background in somatic experiencing and cultural competence, I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs and goals of each client. Whether you're facing relationship issues, navigating life transitions, or seeking support for personal growth, I'm here to accompany you on your journey towards healing and fulfillment. Together, we can navigate life's challenges and harness your strengths to create a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment where they feel safe to openly share their experiences and concerns. The primary focus of this session will be on conducting a thorough intake assessment, which includes gathering information about their personal history, previous treatment experiences, current stressors, and any specific challenges they're facing. We'll also take the time to explore the client's reasons for seeking therapy and what they hope to achieve through our work together. Understanding their goals and aspirations will help us tailor our approach to best meet their needs. Throughout the session, I will actively listen and ask clarifying questions to gain a deeper understanding of the client's unique circumstances and perspectives. Together, we'll collaboratively outline a treatment plan that aligns with their goals and preferences. By the end of the first session, clients can expect to feel heard, understood, and supported. They will have a clearer sense of the therapeutic process ahead and how we will work together to address their concerns and work towards positive change.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, my strengths lie in my culturally diverse life experiences and my education in somatic experiencing, both of which deeply inform my approach to therapy. My background in diverse cultures allows me to bring a rich understanding of various worldviews, traditions, and perspectives into the therapeutic space. I recognize the importance of cultural sensitivity and strive to create an inclusive and respectful environment where clients from all backgrounds feel valued and understood. Furthermore, my training in somatic experiencing enables me to incorporate body-oriented techniques into therapy sessions, going beyond traditional talk therapy. I am committed to exploring the mind-body connection with clients, helping them tap into their bodily sensations, emotions, and inner wisdom to facilitate healing and growth. I approach each client with an open mind and a willingness to explore new avenues for healing and transformation. By combining my cultural competence with somatic-based interventions, I empower clients to embark on a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and holistic well-being.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I specialize in serving clients who are deeply motivated to enact positive change in their lives. My ideal client is one who approaches challenges with a solution-focused mindset, seeking to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. I am particularly well-positioned to work with individuals who are open to exploring somatic experiences, understanding that true transformation often involves more than just cognitive processes. By integrating somatic work alongside cognitive approaches, I empower my clients to tap into their body's wisdom, fostering holistic growth and sustainable change. If you're ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and transformation, I'm here to support you every step of the way.

My treatment methods

Humanistic

I approach therapy with a deep respect for each individual's unique experiences and challenges. Drawing from humanistic principles, I believe in the importance of creating a therapeutic environment that fosters trust, authenticity, and collaboration.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In therapy sessions, I work with clients to explore the underlying causes of their anxiety and panic attacks, while also providing practical tools and strategies to manage symptoms and regain a sense of control. Together, we explore thought patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that may contribute to anxiety, and develop personalized coping skills to navigate challenging situations.

Somatic

Somatic work is helpful in working with trauma and stress related disorders, whether it is a specific traumatic event or multiple events over time. It is also useful for pre- and post-medical procedures. I use somatic therapy to help clients understand their body and nervous system in relation to their anxiety, fears, depression, and numbness.
