Hi! My name is Yvette Gonzalez and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in California. I received my Master's from the University of Southern California and have been practicing for 19 years. I have experience working in outpatient mental health programs and in medical social work settings. I specialize in providing support to young adults and adults who face a range of challenges including but not limited to depression, stress, anxiety, trauma, life transitions/adjustments, grief and loss, and family/relationships.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will begin to explore your challenges and goals for therapy. I will listen with empathy and work to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences and emotions. Together, we will start to develop a therapeutic plan tailored to your unique needs and aspirations.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Therapy is a unique opportunity for exploration and understanding of one's own story, and can facilitate healing and transformation during trying times. I collaborate with the client to foster self-love, self-compassion, and acceptance. I work with clients to strengthen their coping skills, while teaching them strategies and techniques needed to maneuver through life's challenges and transitions. I provide a supportive and hope-filled environment that allows for a journey of emotional healing and self-discovery. Hablo EspaƱol.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is based on the idea that how we think about situations can affect how we feel and behave. CBT helps to identify, challenge, and change unhelpful thinking and unhealthy thoughts. Over time, you will learn techniques and skills that will help you shift negative thinking to a more balanced outlook.
