LMSW-C, 35 years of experience
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Michigan with over 35 years of experience supporting individuals from all walks of life. I’ve had the privilege of helping clients work through challenges related to depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, and abuse. I also hold a special certification in addiction treatment, which allows me to support clients navigating recovery and long-term change. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in a variety of settings - supporting individuals coping with trauma, substance use concerns, and severe and persistent mental health conditions. I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and healing when provided with understanding, compassion, and practical support.
During our first session, my priority is to listen. I want to understand your concerns, what you’ve already tried, what has been helpful, and what hasn’t. Together, we’ll explore your core values, thought patterns, emotions, and behaviors so we can identify what’s been standing in the way of your best life. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported from the very beginning.
I view it as a privilege to be your confidant. I bring empathy, active listening, and genuine care into every session. I’m fully invested in your emotional well-being and will work alongside you as a trusted partner in your journey toward healing and growth.
I work best with individuals who are ready to make meaningful change in their lives. Change doesn’t happen overnight—it starts with awareness, acceptance, and a willingness to take the next step. My ideal clients are those who are ready to take an honest look at what’s holding them back and are motivated to create a more fulfilling future. If you’re ready to make that journey, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
I am a licensed mental health therapist with over thirty years of experience working with individuals who are suffering from depression, anxiety, addictions, and relationship issues. My style is to connect with you and look for patterns of thinking and behaviors that don't work and need to change. We work together to determine, what would work best for you, so you can have the life you want. I will offer you support for appropriate change. I use Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) by focusing on the strength-based approach to psychotherapy that focuses on the solution rather than the problem. Unlike other forms of psychotherapy that analyze present problems and past causes, I work with you to concentrate on the current environment and future hopes. The three main points of Solution-Focused Therapy are If it's not broken, don't fix it If something is working, do more of it. If it's not working, do something different. Coping skills include the use of mindful breathing and learning to catch, challenge, and change intrusive thought patterns.
