Hi there! I'm Rev. Mae Barree Do you experience feelings of being overwhelmed, being pulled in different directions, and unable to fit it all in? How about your relationships, work, school, and your health? Is it hard to provide much needed love for yourself? I help individuals with similar concerns manage anxiety and practice self-care to avoid burnout. Together, we can discover what is not working and get you back to balance. We'll use a whole self-approach, addressing the needs of your mind, body and spirit. I also integrate mindfulness and will teach you coping skills to help you develop a stronger relationship with yourself. If you would like for me to integrate biblically based wisdom, and or prayer, just ask! Whether you’re dealing with anger issues, grief and loss, issues or cycles of anxiety and depression. As a Couple, you may be requesting premarital counseling. What a wonderful and exciting time. We will cover what to expect in marriage and how to communicate effectively which is the most important ingredient in the marital relationship. You may have experienced the loss of a loved one or someone not as close to you. It could be there have been quite a few transitions in your life that have caused you to experience grief and loss. Together we will learn how the stages of grief can impact you and how to cope after loss. I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Let's work together!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will get to know each other. You will get to know me better in a professional way. I will listen and ask questions in in order to assure you that what brings you to therapy is important to me, and that your needs are priority each time we meet.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I will integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) treatment methods. At a Client's request, I will pray before the session and provide biblical wisdom in addition to the clinical techniques mentioned previously. With CBT, I will use the ABC Model. A: meaning there is an Activating Event in the Environment, which leads to B: meaning your Behavior in response to the event, and leads to C: meaning consequences. We will take a look at your thoughts and apply therapy techniques with the end goal of reaching desired healing. With Solution Brief Therapy, after hearing your concerns/issue, one time, we will move toward finding solutions rather than focusing on the problem. When we focus on the problem, we are not moving toward finding solutions to help solve it.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Several of my biggest strengths lie in several areas. Helping Individuals understand and to move on after experiencing grief and loss is one of my biggest strengths. Couples who are in love and headed toward a life of marriage are equipped with an understanding of how to allow each other to grow in their marriage without negativity and criticism but with grace and wisdom. To anticipate differences and how they are stronger together because of their differences. Individuals who do the work as he/she understands, what it takes, to do the work, practice, and are determined, learn growth is possible.that anxiety, anger, stress and depression can be managed.
