Hi, my name is Tara and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey and in Pennsylvania. I received my masters from Lehigh University and have 9 years of experience providing therapy. I work with adults of all ages who are looking for support in managing mental health symptoms, working through life transitions or just looking to build strategies to manage the every day stressors of life. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time outside and being with my family, including my two dogs, Bleu and Honey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

First sessions are meant for information gathering and starting to build the client/therapist relationship. While this is not what our typical therapy sessions will look like, it is important to build rapport and to help me gain an understanding of what you are hoping to get out of therapy so that we can collaboratively build a treatment plan that works best for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am able to provide a safe, welcoming space for individuals while they set and work towards their goals and work through emotions. I have experience working with individuals from many different backgrounds and am willing to learn new things!

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with adults of all ages who are motivated to make a positive change, whether that be big or small. My dream clients are eager to make progress and to build new skills and strategies to set goals and to turn those goals into reality.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I like to tailor treatment to the individual. I believe that treatment should be collaborative in nature, as therapy is not a one size fits all experience. While the techniques that I use most often with my clients are rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person Centered Therapy, I am open to pulling in other techniques such as Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness as needed.
