I am dedicated to providing compassionate and personalized therapy to individuals, couples, and families. My focus is to help you navigate life's challenges and achieve emotional well-being. My practice is safe and confidential allowing you to explore your thoughts and feelings and work towards personal growth and healing. We will work together to identify your desired goals and then create a plan to achieve them.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will focus on helping you find some initial relief from your presenting issue and then start to create a plan to focus on your goals for our time together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Being a mental health therapist requires a unique set of skills and personal strengths to effectively support clients. Here are some of my key strengths: Empathy: The ability to understand and share the feelings of others is crucial. Empathy helps in building trust and rapport with clients. Active Listening: Paying full attention to clients, understanding their messages, and responding thoughtfully ensures they feel heard and validated. Patience: Change and healing take time. Patience allows therapists to remain supportive and non-judgmental throughout the therapeutic process. Emotional Stability: Maintaining composure and managing one's own emotions is essential to provide consistent and reliable support. Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to identify issues and develop effective strategies to address them is vital in helping clients navigate their difficulties. Cultural Competence: Being aware of and sensitive to the cultural backgrounds and identities of clients ensures respectful and effective therapy. Adaptability: Being flexible and able to adjust approaches to meet the unique needs of each client can enhance the effectiveness of therapy. Resilience: The ability to cope with the emotional demands of the job and bounce back from challenging sessions is important for long-term success and well-being.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I am currently in the process of being trained in EMDR. According to the EMDR Institute, repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference. It is widely assumed that severe emotional pain requires a long time to heal. EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma. I am using EMDR to assist individuals in recovering from both current and past stressful events.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT helps reveal the relationship between beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, and the behaviors that follow. This is a type of talk therapy that helps individuals change negative or inaccurate thinking and behavior patterns.

Couples Counseling

The Developmental Model for couple's therapy is an approach that focuses on the growth and development of each partner and the relationship as a whole.
