Hi, I'm Shay. I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Massachusetts. I work with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Outside of outpatient therapy, I run two structured programs. One program is to help clients increase their self-esteem in order to be the best version of themselves. I also run an integration program for adults with treatment resistant depression who are in ketamine/ esketamine treatment.
In the first session, we'll start building a therapeutic relationship by getting to know each other more. We'll talk about your background, why you want to start therapy, and your personal goals.
I provide a safe space to identify and process past experiences, emotions and thoughts you may be struggling with.
I take a person-centered approach to therapy which means putting you, your goals, your needs first! I create a safe environment to encourage self-exploration and increase insight. I will be asking you questions to help you have a better understanding of why you think and feel the way you do. Come with an open mind and know you are in a safe, judgment-free, therapeutic space.
I use CBT alongside all other approaches because negative thinking patterns always come up in therapy. I teach clients how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. I also teach clients how to challenge cognitive distortions or false thinking patterns.
