Hi, I’m Erim a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist born and raised in Southern California. One of my biggest priorities is creating a safe and welcoming place for my clients. I am experienced in treating anxiety, stress management, relationship challenges, grief, loss of relationships, job stress, disappointment management, and life transitions. My aim is to allow room for processing as well as equipping, educating, and empowering my clients with practical tools and techniques that they can use in their everyday lives.
The first session will be a lot of getting to know you. I will conduct and go over assessments to better help understand what you are experiencing. This is also where you can share your story and process what is bringing you to therapy and what you are looking for.
Some of my greatest strengths are creating and fostering a safe, compassionate, and judgement free zone. I also deeply believe is educationing my clients about overall mental health and teaching them practical tools to overcome the challenges they are facing.
If you are looking for a place that is safe, empowering, and where you can gain better self understanding than I am excited to be a part of your journey. I aim to empower and educate my clients wih practical tools and skills to address the mental health challenges they are facing, as well as understanding the connections between our histories and our current challenges.
I utilize CBT as one of the modalities or types of therapy in my practice to help clients understand the connection between triggers/stressors and their impact on thoughts, feelings, and actions. CBT also can help identify ongoing thought patterns and core beliefs which play a significant role in terms of emotional life and decisions we make especially if we are harboring any negative core beliefs or negative thought patterns.
I utilize attachment styles in therapy in order to better conceptualize and understand relationship dynamics and challenges. Once a client is able to their own attachment style and also coneceptualize the attachment style of people in their lives they are then better able to navigate conflict and address expectations.
I feel it is imperative and important for my clients of faith to have a safe space in which to process and integrate their faith into the therapy experience. This will include tailoring counseling to where the client is in terms of their faith walk. Refering to scripture as well as spiritual disciplines such as prayer are utilized within Christian counseling.
Trauma informed care is essential. Much of the traums informed care starts with understanding what traums is and how it impacts clients. This will include understanding the nervous system and emotional regulation.
Utilizing psychodynamic therapy can help identify and understand the origin of certain beliefs, thought patterns, and behaviors in our lives.
