My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on helping individuals accept what is beyond their control and commit to actions that enrich their lives. Here's a brief overview of how I use ACT in my therapy practice: I utilize mindfulness and acceptance to encourage clients to be present in the moment and observe their thoughts and feelings without judgment. I teach mindfulness techniques to increase awareness of the present moment. I also help clients detach from their thoughts and see them as just thoughts, not necessarily accurate reflections of reality. Further assisting clients in accepting their emotions and experiences without trying to change or control them. While highlighting the importance of embracing discomfort and making room for a range of emotions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to focus on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. I begin by conducting a thorough assessment of the client's issues, including their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We will collaboratively set goals for therapy, ensuring they are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. I will provide education, homework assignments and skill building to help with resolving issues.
