Hello, I’m Alesia Dunlap, a compassionate and dedicated therapist committed to walking alongside individuals as they navigate life’s challenges. I specialize in working with adults and adolescents dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, and relationship struggles. I also have experience supporting parents, caregivers, and individuals adjusting to new roles or identities. My approach is holistic and personalized—drawing from evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, faith-based support, trauma-informed care, and creative modalities such as art or mindfulness. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to grow. My goal is to help you build resilience, gain clarity, and find hope, no matter where you are on your journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session with me, you can expect a welcoming, judgment-free space where you’re encouraged to be yourself. We’ll spend time getting to know each other—I'll ask questions about what brought you to therapy, some of your current challenges, and what you hope to get out of our time together. There’s no pressure to share everything at once; we go at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I’ll also explain how I work, answer any questions you might have, and begin to explore what support might look like moving forward. Most importantly, my goal in that first session is to make sure you feel heard, safe, and supported as we begin your healing journey together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to create a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly seen and heard. I meet people where they are, honoring their unique journey while gently helping them explore the deeper layers of their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. My integrative approach allows me to tailor sessions to each client’s individual needs—whether that includes faith-based support, evidence-based practices, creative expression, or just holding space for difficult emotions. I bring empathy, insight, and a deep sense of purpose to my work, and I believe strongly in the power of hope, healing, and transformation. Clients often share that they feel safe, empowered, and more connected to themselves through our work—and that is a responsibility I hold with great care.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

If you’ve found your way here, I believe it’s not by accident. My dream clients are those who feel the weight of life’s burdens—whether from grief, anxiety, trauma, or relationship struggles—but still carry a quiet hope that healing is possible. You may feel spiritually disconnected, emotionally drained, or just unsure of your next step, yet something in you knows that God has more for your life. What you have in common is a longing for peace, clarity, and purpose—a desire to feel whole again, not just on the outside but in your soul. In our work together, we invite faith into the healing process, trusting that with grace, support, and honest reflection, transformation can happen. You don’t have to have it all figured out—just a willingness to show up and let God meet you where you are.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP)

"In our work together, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. We’ll identify unhelpful thought patterns and work on replacing them with more balanced, realistic ones. The goal is to help you build tools to manage stress, improve your mood, and respond to challenges in healthier ways."

Faith based therapy

"In my practice, I offer faith-based support for clients who find strength and guidance through their spiritual beliefs. We may integrate scripture, or spiritual affirmations into our sessions, depending on your comfort level and preferences. My goal is to help you connect your faith with your healing journey, using it as a source of hope, clarity, and resilience."

Grief Therapy

"In our work together, I use grief-informed approaches to help you process loss at your own pace. We create space to honor your emotions, explore the impact of the loss, and find ways to cope that are meaningful to you. Whether your grief is recent or from the past, my goal is to support your healing while helping you adjust to life after loss."

Integrative

"In my practice, I use an integrative approach, which means I draw from a variety of therapeutic methods to best support your unique needs. This may include techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, faith-based practices, or trauma-informed care, depending on what feels most helpful to you. My goal is to create a flexible, personalized experience that honors your values, strengths, and goals for healing."
