I've got in-depth professional and personal experience with trauma and neurodivergence, and I'm well aware of the overlap with these experiences.
I work with clients to identify core thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors that are holding them back, and we clarify specific skills they can work on to take more control over their lives.
First session
The intake session is going to be full of questions to gather more information about you and your goals, as well as a discussion of diagnoses. The goal is to gain understanding. We'll also build our schedule.
Strengths
I'm not afraid to get creative or be weird. There's no such thing as a one-size-fits-all therapeutic approach, and I work on developing a cohesive understanding of you to identify which strategies are going to be most helpful.
Ideal clients
My dream clients have been through some things, and may have a hard time putting their thoughts to words. They likely identify as neurodivergent, and may struggle with taking action due to being stuck in their heads. They are ready to stop thinking and start doing.
Treatment methods
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I work with clients to better understand themselves and identify what they can and cannot control and take steps to improve their ability to live according to their values.
Attachment-based
I explore previous relationships with people to determine how these impact their current relationship functioning and work on developing a sense of security with themselves and others.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I explore links between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and help identify actionable steps to take to improve mood and functioning.
Couples Counseling
I work with each member of the relationship individually as well as working with them as a couple to identify strategies to improve the quality of their relationships with themselves and each other.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I work with clients to identify unhelpful behaviors, improve coping skills and communication skills, and live their best life.
