Hello I'm Kemyata. Do you feel trapped in a cycle of negative and anxious thoughts? Are you struggling to stay present and "get out of your thoughts"? Is it difficult for you to extend yourself forgiveness and grace? My goal is to promote good mental hygiene by teaching and empowering those whom I serve, to resolve past issues and traumas that impede one's ability to find peace in the authenticity of self. We'll use a whole self approach, addressing the needs of your mind, body and spirit. I also integrate mindfulness and meditation to help you develop a stronger relationship with yourself. Whether you're dealing with a low mood, loss of interest in things once enjoyed, feeling on the edge most of the time, or getting stuck in your thoughts I'm here to help. Feeling ambivalent about being vulnerable and addressing some things you've never uttered a word about to anyone may be difficult. However, you have made a transformative step towards your healing journey. I offer a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion ,evidence-based techniques, and psychoeducation to help overcome whatever struggles that keep you from the peace of living in authenticity. Let's walk together on this journey!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session serves as an initial assessment and a psychosocial evaluation. At this session I will partner with you to create a treatment plan based on your assessment and diagnosis. The following sessions will consist of addressing issues that are in the treatment plan as well as helping you process any stressors that may have negatively impacted your mood and progress since the last session

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I am a cognitive behavioral and existential therapist. I utilize evidence-based interventions from the aforementioned theoretical orientations to help clients learn to manage thoughts to improve their moods as well as identify core worth to help foster positive self-esteem. In addition to utilizing these methods, the clinician also utilizes interventions aimed at addressing, PTSD, inner child healing, effective communication, assertiveness and psychological resilience.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths are in my ability to facilitate psychoeducation in a way that engages the client and motivates them to change. I am an empathic listener and I view the opportunity to walk with the client on their healing journey as a privilege.
