Welcome! I am glad you are here and I hope we get to meet soon. My name is Brandon Rogers - M.Ed., LPC, CCATP. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a certification to be a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP). I have 23 years of experience in public education as a teacher, coach, and school counselor. I also have 4 years of counseling experience with individuals and families ranging in age from 5 to 75. We all go through challenges and transitions in our lives, and they all look different depending on your specific situation. I want to help you by using the knowledge and experience I have gained over the years to help you find solutions to the challenges you are facing. The focus of counseling sessions will be client centered and solution focused. Recognizing the past to understand the future will help us focus on the here and now, allowing us to work cooperatively to create goals, solutions, and coping skills for your future.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Clients can expect an empathetic, non judgmental counselor, with strong listening skills. Building rapport and trust is key to a healthy and effective therapeutic relationship. I am a kind, caring, and solution focused counselor who will provide direct and compassionate feedback. You are here to get help, and I am here to help you. It is okay to not be okay, please reach out today so we can connect.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I have been told that I am kind, caring, non judgmental, and possess good listening skills. I am a firm believer in taking the challenges you face, creating goals, measuring progress, and working on assigned tasks in between our sessions. As a teacher, coach, and counselor, I have been able to practice my communication skills while learning from some amazing mentors. I have been told that I am patient, have good listening skills, and genuinely care about others. It is crucial that we are a good fit, can build a positive rapport, maintain a professional and authentic therapeutic alliance, and make progress together as a team. I look forward to connecting you to see if we are a good fit. I enjoy applying the concepts and techniques I have learned to help others, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and I am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP).
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I love to work with clients who are willing to go on the journey with me of improving their lives and mental health. Clients that are willing to listen, learn, share honest thoughts and feelings, and complete tasks in between sessions will see the most results. I am a straight forward, empathetic, solution focused, and goal oriented counselor while using research based therapeutic techniques such as CBT, DBT, and ACT. Let's tackle your challenges together, one day at a time.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have used this to help people identify and challenge negative or inaccurate thoughts, and learn practical strategies to cope with difficult situations. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented type of talk therapy. It can help manage mental health conditions and emotional concerns.
Motivational Interviewing
I like this type of therapy because it is a client-centered, directive style that uses open-ended questions and reflective listening. Helps clients progress through five stages of change: pre-contemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, and maintenance.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
“Dialectical” means combining opposite ideas. DBT focuses on helping people accept the reality of their lives and their behaviors, as well as helping them learn to change their lives, including their unhelpful behaviors. I use this type of therapy who are struggling with extreme emotions.
