Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Clients can anticipate gaining personalized support tailored to their unique challenges in our sessions. Our initial meeting involves introductions and a discussion about your specific concerns, enabling me to create a customized plan for our ongoing work. Your input is valued in shaping an individualized treatment plan with SMART goals. In the early sessions, I conduct a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment to explore biological, psychological, and social factors contributing to the challenges you're facing. My priority is building rapport and providing a safe space for exploration. While initial intakes are virtual, in-person sessions are available upon request.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I take pride in my ability to really listen, tailor interventions to your unique needs, and consistently pursue ongoing education to stay at the forefront of my field. Building a genuine connection with my clients is a strength of mine, providing a comforting and safe space where you can openly share and express yourself.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with young children and adolescents. I guide my clients to reconnect with their strengths and develop new ones so that they can have the skill set to manage challenges, find their balance, and thrive.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I am passionate about Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, trauma-informed, and many other therapy modalities. I know everyone has a unique way of thinking, learning and needs in their life. It is important to adjust your needs to best fit you. I pull from many different therapy types to find the best individualized treatment for your needs. CBT however is one of the most common methods of talk therapy and assists clients in identifying, challenging and correcting harmful thought patterns. By focusing on, and becoming more aware of your cognitive processes, you will gain the ability to change patterns of negative behavior by responding to negative thoughts more effectively and positively. CBT is commonly used to treat mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, eating or sleep disorders, or addictive behaviors.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I support my clients by utilizing an integrative approach incorporating Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, psychodynamic therapy, positive psychology, and motivational interviewing in my sessions. I believe in collaborating with my clients by utilizing a strength-based and client-centered modality so that they can develop a growth mindset and have a deeper understanding of themselves as they explore new skills to make positive changes. With DBT, you will begin to learn life skills which include mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness. I will support you to work past the challenges of ineffective thinking patterns and emotional extremes that may be holding you back and impacting your daily functioning.

Experiential Therapy

Experiential Therapy involves activities such as, but not limited to, music, or art to process negative emotions. I have over 5 years of experience utilizing this creative approach with individuals who may struggle with communicating their thoughts and feelings and have found this treatment method to be beneficial. Children specifically tend to benefit from engaging an experiential therapy model to support them with accessing feelings that may otherwise be hidden or not easily communicated.

Strength-Based

Strength-based therapy is a type of positive psychotherapy that focuses on the clients internal strengths and resourcefulness, rather than weaknesses, failures, and shortcomings. The objective of the strengths-based approach is to protect the individual's independence, resilience, ability to make choices and wellbeing.
