Hello, my name is Courtney and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Virginia. I am a proud alum of Norfolk State University, where I obtained my Master of Social Work degree. I have a background in healthcare, working with all age groups. I also provided virtual therapy sessions to college students throughout the state of Virginia.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our sessions will be relaxed. This is your space and your time. But in order to get the most out of it, in the first session we will discuss your current challenges and specifically what you are hoping to get out of therapy. From there we will come up with an appropriate treatment plan. Don't worry if you aren't able to pinpoint exactly what your end goal is, sometimes that alone can be overwhelming.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked with adults of all ages. I create a safe space for transparency and authenticity. And more importantly, I recognize that although we are everyday people, we are very different, thus therapy will be curated just for you. I look forward to caring for you.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

By using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I help the client break unhealthy habits of negative thoughts, feelings, and actions. By challenging those patterns, the client has been able to adjust towards a less stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed lifestyle.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution Focused Brief Treatment to assist the client with meeting their immediate, short-term goals. I collaborate with the client to identify the problem and patterns. Together, we implement steps towards meeting the overall goal. This treatment has helped clients to remain focused on their end goal.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

During sessions, I implement moments of Mindfulness-Based Therapy. This therapeutic method has caused the client to pause, breathe, and practice being present in the moment. I go through helpful tools that can be applied to the client's daily routine.
