Hi there, I’m Dr. Mills! I am a Licensed Psychologist based in Southern California. I’ve been practicing since 2010 and currently work with clients statewide via telehealth. My academic training includes a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from California Lutheran University, an MS in Clinical Psychology from California Lutheran University, an MA in Counseling - Marriage & Family Therapy from National University, and a BA in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego. I have worked with all ages and a wide breadth of challenges and/or concerns, from situational stressors to severe mental illness.
The first appointment will be an intake session where I will spend the bulk of the time learning about you and your current concerns. We will then collaborate on an initial treatment plan that will guide our work together.
My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each person I work with, but always includes ongoing collaboration. I frequently use (but not limited to) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Interpersonal Therapy, Family Systems Therapy and psychoanalytic approaches depending on the presenting clinical factors and what seems to be most effective for each individual.
I have been told by my clients past and present that I am openminded, create a safe space to engage and lend unconditional support for their needs.
