My approach cultivates connection and collaboration, offering a judgment-free space tailored to your unique experiences and aspirations. I can help you clearly identify what keeps you saying "Yes" when you want to say "No," where you're feeling bad or guilty when really you're experiencing deep empathy, and how to step into your unshakeable confidence and a sense of grounded self-respect while maintaining healthy limits. My clients often compare working with me to a compassionate journey in which self-discovery leads to empowerment. Change is made possible by accepting your current situation. Together, we strengthen the muscles of sitting with your emotions, reducing the impact of challenges like anxiety & self-doubt. Invite Future You to act in alignment with your values, free from persistent thoughts that hold you back. Let's make space for growth and create a path that aligns with the best version of yourself.
In our first session, we'll talk through your intake paperwork to ensure I understand your unique needs and goals for our time together in the future. We'll map out the path to success for making sure you're aimed toward your favorite future self and discuss the many ways we can go about getting you there.
I balance many empirically-researched modalities (Mindful Self Compassion, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, PolyVagal Theory) in a Mind, Body, Spirit approach that addresses all the complex facets of your experience of being human. I work best with those who experience big emotions or who have grown up in a family with big emotions, because often those of us who have more sensitive emotional machinery than others experience chronic invalidation. My joy comes from giving gentleness alongside actionable tools to help you take control of your next steps toward healing.
I love working with humans who struggle to be kind to themselves or who are often told things like "you put too much pressure on yourself." You may not believe my compassion for you at first. My job is to hold it consistently until you see your worthiness for yourself. My favorite intervention is something I call "exposure to compliments." I support highly sensitive clients with empirically based skills designed for gently shifting from intention to action. My treatment plans are intentionally woven to promote an ongoing practice of presence & lasting self-leadership. I offer worksheets with skills & reflection questions for individual work between sessions.
I balance Being Mind & Doing Mind in a way that allows you to settle in to being gentle & present with your current experience. Because Anxiety can feel like being pulled into future "worry thoughts" and depression can feel like being stuck in past "what-if thinking", Mindful presence can be a helpful antidote to both.
Moving from Thought to Action begins with the shift from Acceptance of our current situation in order to map a path towards Change. Marsha Linehan's comprehensively researched skills lay a framework for effectiveness.
