Hello, Congratulations on taking this brave step forward in your self-growth! Even though you may feel stuck right now, the fact that you are here means that you are actively striving to overcome the obstacles that are affecting you. I believe compassion comes first in therapy followed by learning the skills to get unstuck from our past hurt or our sabotaging thoughts. I was fortunate to have great therapists help me on my healing journey from Childhood trauma, depression and Anxiety. So I became a passionate advocate for self-healing and growth, having seen in my own experience the life-changing results of therapy. In my years as a therapist, I have focused on helping amazing people learn to Regulate Emotions, overcome symptoms of Depression, Anxiety, ADHD related issues, overcome toxic relationship patterns and go through difficult life transitions such as divorce, death, immigration and financial loss. I have worked as an individual and group therapist in a variety of settings such as Psychiatric Centers, Addiction Rehabilitation Centers, and Hospitals. I studied Psychology and Social Work and got my LCSW licensed as a Psychotherapist in the state of Florida. I’m the founder of Unlimited Way Therapy where I offer therapy for people who want to learn strategies to manage stress, mood disorders and overcome trauma. To begin sessions with me, schedule a free 15-minutes "Get to know you" Consultation.
You will start practicing new ways to cope right during our first session. I walk you through a way to untangle the different aspects of what's not working for you in a way that makes it possible to create a plan. We then make our working alliance, establishing what's important for you to feel understood and comfortable opening up about anything that needs to be addressed. The intention of our first session is for you to leave with a clearer head, knowing you have within yourself all that you need to help you learn new ways to face your life and support your growth.
Aside from my private practice, I learn so much from the people I get to meet while I facilitate mental health skills workshops. Traveling around the world, poetry, and classical literature are not only hobbies for me; they also enrich my cultural competency to connect with my clients with respect and appreciation for their unique experiences shaped by culture and social issues. I believe in practicing the skills that I share with my clients, so I continue training in meditation, yoga, and mindfulness practices in my daily life.
For more than 10 years, I have helped my clients to successfully regulate emotions, and overcome depression, anxiety, and traumatic experiences. I can help you discover how these issues are sabotaging your happiness and peace. You may find that your motivation is poor or feel overwhelmed and stressed out by all your responsibilities. You may have grown irritable or sad, your relationships may be suffering. But in therapy, you will find the space and the tools to change that around. We will establish a route of self-actualization unique to you and your journey.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Techniques to empower you. You learn how to listen for distortions in your internal conversations, challenge sabotaging thoughts, and develop an inner voice that is an ally to support your growth.
I use Trauma-Focused CBT when my clients express how their adverse experiences during childhood or adulthood are affecting their lives in the present. As a childhood abuse survivor myself, I provide a safe space for grieving and gently provide a safe way to start your journey toward healing. This way you can move on to a stage of life in which trauma experiences are no longer limiting your present.
Most of my clients come to therapy with fear of feeling their negative emotions. Sometimes you think you need to eliminate or suppress your anger or anxiety. I offer you a better route: to use the energy of emotions to fuel your growth journey. In therapy, you learn to listen to the adaptive needs behind your emotions and make informed decisions about your future.
Mindfulness is one of the main foundations of therapy with me. My clients learn to be present in the here and now and have awareness of their real thoughts, needs, and wants to live fulfilling lives instead of people-pleasing or living in constant burnt-out states. This includes being conscious of your body sensations, feelings, thoughts, and surroundings, as well as seeking and recognizing genuine connections in their relationships.
In my practice, I have found that compassion is the key to courage when facing life's adversities. My clients learn the difference between self-compassion and self-pity. Self-compassion empowers you to support yourself and hold yourself accountable to meet your needs and what's in this life. On the contrary, Self-pity is a sabotaging way of thinking that belittles you, minimizes your strengths, and gets you stuck in your journey of self-actualization.
