About me

I work with children, teens, and adults struggling with anxiety disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, phobias, panic disorder, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I believe in an evidence-based approach to treating anxiety disorders, OCD, and trauma. I also emphasize teaching individuals skills including setting healthy boundaries, learning to communicate their wants and needs, and cultivating a healthy interdependence with others in their life. I use warmth and humor to help you feel understood as an individual. My approach blends attunement and caring with creating practical solutions for helping you to deal with your problems. In my work with children, I make sure that parents are involved in treatment so that you have the skills to validate your child's emotions, manage behavioral challenges, and create a closer bond with your child. I want to support you as a parent in helping your child outside of the one hour per week your child is in therapy, so that you can help your child to return to the important job of being a kid.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know one another and to see if we might work well together. The first appointment is called an intake or assessment session, where I ask you about different areas of your life and we come up with a plan to address the mental health challenges you are experiencing. You will leave the first appointment with some feedback and ideas of what can do to work together on your problem. I may also ask you to complete some assessments prior to your second appointment, where we will start to work on the goals that you identified in your intake.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have a broad range of clinical experience from working in community mental health with people of all ages from a variety of different backgrounds. I also have specific training in writing letters of support for gender affirming surgery for trans and non-binary individuals. One of my strengths is my focus on social justice. I strive to create an anti-racist, feminist, anti-ableist, LGBTQ+ -affirming, and neurodiversity-affirming practice. I hope that my clients feel comfortable presenting their whole selves in session so that they can be authentic in the therapeutic relationship.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

In my practice, I serve children, teens, young adults, LGBTQ+ folks, women, individuals with OCD and anxiety disorders, and individuals with PTSD.

I think she’s an incredibly kind and empathetic provider and I always appreciate the practical advice she gives. Even when I have high support needs she always tries her best to accommodate me and make sure I get the help I need. She’s especially conscious of my needs as a neurodivergent person and someone with complex disorders. We’ve been able to build a great relationship over our time together and I truly never want another therapist.
