My name is Jen and I have been a therapist for over ten years. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of treatment settings including outpatient, in home treatments, and intensive therapies. I use a variety of techniques with clients based on their individuality and specific needs. My approach is compassion based and is led by making the client feel supported during the treatment process.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect in their first session to be able to share whatever they feel comfortable sharing. I will ask basic questions about themselves, and also about their interests and likes/dislikes. I take the time in the first appointment to get to know the client and also allow the client to ask questions to me.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider are that I am caring and compassionate for my clients. I believe I do a great job of making clients feel comfortable and able to share when they are ready. I am also supportive and do an excellent job creating a trustworthy environment.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT in my practice for about 10 years. CBT allows clients to change negative thought patterns and behaviors in order to improve the way they feel. I help teach clients how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected by using talk therapy and activities while in sessions.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness is a great way to focus on the here and now in order to be able to heal and grow from traumatic experiences. I use mindfulness in my practice by assisting clients in becoming aware of their thoughts and utilizing mindfulness techniques to help them change negative thinking.

Compassion Focused

I approach each client with unconditional positive regard, knowing that it is important for clients to feel supported in therapy. I believe clients should feel heard by their therapist and this is done by creating a trusting environment where the therapist shows continuous compassion for the client.
