LCSW, 5 years of experience
I started my professional career in child welfare. I transitioned to mental health and primarily work with adolescents, providing mental health resources and interventions and family supports. I am open to meeting with clients during some weekday evening hours and some weekends as well. I hope to provide you the space and support needed to help guide you through your current distress.
In our first meeting we can begin with brief introductions where I can share additional information about myself. I would want to know what brought you to meet today.
A provider who is genuine and can connect with their patient beyond their symptoms, prognosis or diagnosis. A provider who holds space for their client to feel safe enough to openly share is key to creating and maintaining a positive rapport.
If you have been or are hesitant to meet and openly share your worries/concerns - this message is for you. I have experience helping clients manage symptoms associated with possible anxiety, depression, PTSD, and those seeking additional supports/resources.
Lending a hand, offering someone help, is much different than receiving or asking for that help. Meeting with a trusted professional and sharing your struggles or personal life is not easy. Let's begin this journey; focus on where you are and where you want to be at your pace.
Exploring how your experiences and world views currently influence oneself, we can practice and increase awareness of certain situations (triggers) and develop new skills to help manage similar situations.
On the pathway of change or healing, we often become unmotivated, resistant and seek refuge in old habits. As we discuss and passively chat, MI is designed to draw out your own meaning, importance and capacity for change/healing; with the goal of empowering you to become an active participant.

I always feel seen by Octavio, even when I have hard time seeing myself. He asks the kind of questions that help me figure out the answers and often the answers are somewhere inside. He isn't afraid to share when a situation I've mentioned is upsetting and is very validating. He did not give up on me when I got to a place where I had to take a break from therapy and welcomed me back with open arms. His perspective is valuable.
