I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois with 11 years of professional work experience, primarily working with individuals ages 3-25. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, & anger management. I also have experience working with motivation, self esteem, and confidence. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session I like to spend some time asking general questions to gain some background knowledge, which helps me understand you and your past. It also gives you an opportunity to share with me what you feel is important for me to know and what you want to focus on in therapy. I also like to give clients the opportunity to ask me questions if they have any.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I believe my greatest strength as a provider would be empathy. I have had this since I was young. Often it was viewed negatively as "too sensitive", but as I went through college I realized that it wasn't a weakness but actually a strength. I believe this for most people. I am a true believer that we can take a weakness and find some way to make it into a strength.
