Welcome - I'm glad you're here! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Psychotherapist with a Master's Degree from Boston College. I offer individual therapy to adults (ages 20+), specializing in adjustment to medical illness and grief/loss, with additional interests in stress management, navigating life transitions, and working through relationship issues. With a career centered around the intersection of mental health and medical care, I am well-versed in the unique challenges that arise for individuals facing loss or illness. Schedule a free 15-minute consultation with me to discuss what you're hoping to get out of therapy, learn more about my approach and areas of expertise, and determine whether we might be a good fit as you tackle this important work.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Should you reach out, you will be provided with a safe and supportive space filled with warmth, patience, and humor. In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing and think together the ways in which I can be most supportive to you. This will allow me to then create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. Together, we can navigate your challenges and bring you closer to your goals. My eclectic therapy approach recognizes that therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. By drawing from various modalities, I tailor interventions to each client's unique needs and goals, empowering self-discovery, healing, and growth. I help adults engage in self-care, seek support, and develop coping strategies for anxiety, mood, and life stressors. Before we get started, you might consider scheduling a free 15-minute consultation with me. It is crucial that you find someone who truly understands your unique needs and feels like the right match for you, ensuring that you can fully benefit from therapy. If I'm not the best fit for you, I'm committed to supporting you in finding the therapist who is.

With over 5 years of post-graduate experience as a Medical Social Worker, I am well-versed in the specific challenges that arise for individuals facing loss or illness. I deeply understand the profound impact a health condition can have on every facet of one's life, from relationships and career to emotional well-being and sense of identity. Therefore, my approach is founded on empathy, guiding individuals through this journey with compassion and support as they navigate these complex emotions and transitions.

My treatment methods

Supportive

As a therapist, I believe that support and empathy form the bedrock of any therapeutic approach, offering a safe haven for healing and personal development. Creating a space of understanding and nonjudgmental acceptance allows me to build trust and connection with my clients, enabling us to journey together towards exploration, insight, and transformative growth.

Eclectic

In my eclectic therapy approach, I embrace the fundamental belief that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all endeavor. Drawing from various therapeutic modalities and techniques, I tailor my interventions to meet the unique needs, preferences, and goals of each individual client. By customizing the therapeutic process, I empower clients to explore diverse avenues for self-discovery, healing, and personal growth, fostering a collaborative and dynamic journey towards holistic well-being.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a focus on gaining coping strategies, stress management techniques, processing difficult life experiences, dealing with periods of uncertainty, and cognitive restructuring of unhelpful, distorted thoughts.

Grief Therapy

My passion for grief work is informed by years working as a Medical Social Worker in a variety of healthcare settings. Whether your grief is centered around a tangible loss, such as the death of a loved one or the end of a relationship, or an intangible loss, such as your sense of identity or a long-held dream, I will provide you with a compassionate space to navigate the complex emotions and adjustments that accompany any loss. Through validation, exploration, and coping strategies tailored to each person's unique experience, grief therapy helps clients honor their loss, integrate it into their lives, and ultimately find meaning and healing amidst their grief journey.
