Hello and a warm welcome to you, I'm Karre, she/her. *Please make sure your appointment is in your timezone* If I have an appointment open on my calendar I have space for you to continue beyond the intake. Open appointments on the calendar are for intake purposes, moving forward that spot is either open weekly or bi-weekly. Feel free to reach out to me to see if I have weekly or bi-weekly open when you have scheduled your intake. I have more than 20 years of experience helping facilitate positive change with a diverse clientele. Through my massage therapy practice, I discovered the healing that is possible for both myself and my clients. Inspired by the many years of personal narratives, shared with me during bodywork sessions, I continued my journey into mental health. Healing of the whole person, mind-body-spirit, is central to my clinical practice. Within a safe and welcoming space, we explore your experiences, self-talk, physical wellness, inspiration, values, goals, and balance. I love my work, helping you to discover, recover, and embrace your inner strengths, moving towards fulfillment and joy is a privilege. I am always eager to learn and train, finding different ways of approaching my work to provide optimum care. Those closest to me know me as an ardent mom, wife, and nana, a traveler, and an arts-inspired social equality-loving creator.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then we talk about the specific challenges you're facing. This helps me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. We can schedule your next appointment(s) when the intake is complete. If you need to reschedule your intake, or have any questions, feel free to message me in the portal.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Through my varied life and work experiences, and travels in diverse communities around the world, I have developed a creative, industrious, and culturally sensitive approach to my practice. I also have lived experience with many of the areas I focus on in my practice and therefore have a deep understanding of how difficult they can be. I bring into my practice an incredibly strong desire to provide the best possible therapeutic approach to those currently working on processing through. I'm passionate about being a helper in the healing world. Website with resources: https://journey-therapeutic-solutions-llc-104687.square.site/

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps us accept negative thoughts, feelings, and circumstances. It's a different way of looking at whats going on within and around us. It encourages us to commit to a pro-positive lifestyle that is tied to what it is that we truly value.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) can help you to change unhelpful or unhealthy ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving. CBT uses practical self-help strategies that are designed to immediately improve your quality of life.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) is a short-term, collaborative approach to psychotherapy that focuses on setting goals and finding solutions. It's based on solution-building rather than problem-solving.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) can help you process through traumatic and/or disturbing memories, feelings, body sensations, and thoughts with very little or no description of the event while utilizing bi-lateral stimulation (tapping, sound, eye movements). When we are able to process through them, we can be less attached to the experience. In a sense we are released from the attachment.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-Based Therapy (MBCBT, MBCT) can help us to be aware of internal thoughts, feelings, and emotions, as well as external surroundings and situations, without automatic responses such as judgment, criticism, and stress.
