I graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2007 with a Master of Arts in Counseling. I have been fully licensed in the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor for over 10 years. My primary areas of focus are working with adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, and/or trouble focusing. I have worked in private practice, community mental health, as well as partial hospitalization settings. My style of counseling combines solution focused, client centered methods as well as techniques from CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy). I believe that all people possess the ability to change and I will provide you with unconditional positive regard and support as you strive to reach your goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session I aim to meet you where you are and hear the story you want to share. In our first session I want to hear about what makes you who you are and what you are looking for in seeking therapy. I also hope to answer any questions you might have about counseling in general or counseling with me.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a provider is really getting to know my clients and who they are as a person, what are their likes and dislikes, their strengths and weaknesses, and working together to set and achieve the goals they set.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe that all people possess the ability to grow and change and I meet you where you are at, and walk alongside you in the journey to meet your goals.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I enjoy working with clients in setting realistic and achievable goals, troubleshooting issues which prevent you from reaching your goals, and developing new ideas and approaches to reach your goals and change problematic behaviors.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In using CBT we work to identify how your thoughts influence your emotions and actions and how to be able to identify and implement rational thoughts to decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression.
