Hi there! Do you feel stuck and uncertain about where and how to fix your life situations because you think it's beyond repair? You're not hopeless, I'm here to help! The struggles of life can become overwhelming and burdensome for many, and having the right person; an objective person you can reach out to and release the built-up pressures of life experiences can empower you with the skills and techniques to effectively manage situations. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I believe everyone has a story to tell about their journey in life and what that experience has been like for them, but oftentimes, those stories go unheard or invalidated by others. This tends to open the door to developing negative distortions about ourselves; about who we are and our ability to succeed. Over time, these distortions begin to overlap in other areas of our lives not only affecting our mood, motivation, self-esteem, and beliefs but importantly, our relationships – our connection with family, friends and loved ones. As your therapist, I'll provide the opportunity for you to share your story and begin the process of self-discovery.
In our first session, we’ll have a formal introduction and deeper discussion into your challenges to create a tailored treatment plan approach. We’ll also discuss goals and expectations throughout the course of treatment.
My clinical experience includes addressing and treating family conflict, marital issues, divorce, parenting, ethnic/cultural issues, self-esteem, self-harm, anxiety, depression, trauma, problem sexual behaviors, and grief. I am trained in evidence-based models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Grounding Techniques, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy and am also a Certified Advanced Gestalt therapist.
I use systemic and strengths-based approaches to bring families closer together to achieve fulfilling relationships. I view therapy as a collaborative process as I guide you through increasing self-awareness, gaining new perspectives, decreasing symptoms and increasing personal strengths to improve communication and build stronger relationships.
