Hello! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Illinois. I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Louisville and have worked in the behavioral health field for 8 years. I have experience with various treatments and specialties which allows me to tailor therapy based on individual needs and goals. I believe in building a safe, non-judgemental relationship with my clients to help them get to the root cause of issues preventing them from moving forward in life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In a first session with me, clients can expect a structured yet compassionate introduction to the therapeutic process, designed to build rapport, understand their needs, and lay the groundwork for future sessions. Overall, the first session is designed to be informative, supportive, and engaging. It serves as the foundation for building a strong therapeutic relationship and setting the stage for meaningful work in subsequent sessions. Clients can expect a professional and empathetic approach that prioritizes their comfort and collaboration throughout the therapy process.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths lie in my unique blend of compassion, advocacy, and practical skills, which enable me to effectively support individuals facing diverse challenges. Central to my role is empathy, which allows me to deeply understand and relate to the experiences and emotions of my clients, fostering trust and rapport. This empathetic approach is complemented by active listening, a crucial skill that ensures my clients feel heard and valued, and allows me to gather essential information for effective intervention. I also possess strong problem-solving abilities, enabling me to identify practical solutions to complex issues. Additionally, cultural competence is a key strength, as it allows me to respect and integrate my clients' diverse backgrounds and perspectives into my practice, ensuring more relevant and respectful support. A commitment to ethical integrity ensures that I practice with honesty, respect, and professionalism, upholding my clients’ rights and confidentiality. Moreover, flexibility allows me to adapt my approaches based on the unique needs of each client, ensuring personalized and effective interventions. Finally, a dedication to continuous learning ensures that I stay updated with best practices, new research, and evolving policies, thereby enhancing my ability to provide high-quality support.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Oftentimes, our own thought patterns, beliefs, and attitudes can cause challenges in our day to day life. Working together to explore our thoughts and feelings, we can identify skills and action steps that can be taken to allow us to overcome the challenges we face.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

In today's world it's easy to ruminate on the past or fixate on the future. When we do this, we often feel unfulfilled, unhappy, depressed, or anxious. Mindfulness allows us to ground ourselves in the present and unpack what is happening in the here and now.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Sometimes we feel bad or guilty about our feelings or get hung up in our emotions. Other times, we avoid our emotions altogether so that we don't have to feel pain or discomfort. ACT allows us to sit in the present with our thoughts and feelings without judgement. When we sit with our emotions, we can unpack them, name them, understand them, and then move past them without getting "stuck."

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused Brief Treatment is rooted in the present to address current life challenges, focusing on identifying solutions to work toward a future where current challenges have less of an impact on our lives.
