Hi there! Life can be tough, but so are you. We humans are so amazing and capable of so much healing. I love people and I have always had a heart to help. I have over 15 years of experience as a counselor, and I have worked with several different communities of folks. My favorites are teenagers and adults, especially those dealing with anxiety, in the LGBTQ+ community and/or those of us that are neuro divergent. I know personally how confusing it can be to navigate figuring out who you are, dealing with all the emotions that come along and ultimately becoming comfortable with yourself. It would be my pleasure to walk alongside you and help you navigate your own personal journey.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session with me, we will go over safety and get a baseline of what has been going on that led you to counseling. I will use unconditional positive regard (which is a fancy way of saying I'm not gonna judge) to learn about you and we will build a plan of action together to reach your personal goals for therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength is empathy and genuine care for others. I have been told that people feel at ease with me, which is an absolute privilege.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Teens, young adults and adults who are in the process of finding themselves and then learning to love who they find.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I am of the belief that the client knows themselves the best. My job is to come alongside them and help them continue to discover themselves.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

What we think about effects the way we feel which effects the way we behave or act. CBT gets to the thought and working on changing it, in order to produce new outcomes.

Compassion Focused

Unconditional compassion and understanding are at the center of my practice. As people, we need to feel understood and not judged in order to have the space to grow and change.

Eclectic

Everyone is different. I adapt my treatment to the person and what they are presenting to me, not the other way around. This makes for a need to be eclectic in my approach to working with clients and meeting them where they are. I'm grateful to have been trained in different techniques and I have a unique sense of and intuition for what interventions are needed based on the person.
