I'm so glad you're here! I’m excited to collaborate with you in working toward increasing sexual safety, wellness, and pleasure in your life. I'd love to work together to figure out what you’re already doing that’s working for you and develop a plan to build on your current strengths and supports to help you move toward the sexual life and relationships you want. Most of us have been taught not to talk about sex and our bodies, and many of us have been taught to be ashamed of our bodies and what we think about, fantasize about, and do sexually. I believe that everyone is a sexual being and that sexual expression is a healthy part of all of our lives. Sometimes all we need is for someone to hold a safe space for us while we explore and process. Sometimes what we need is specific education, skills, and the support to develop them. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist with over 20 years of experience in the field of sexual wellness, my goal isn’t to tell you where you should go, what you should do, or how you should be, but to help you move in the direction of the life you want, wherever that might take you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will explore your concerns and your goals in more detail, including what you've already tried and what you are doing that is working. We'll take time to get to know each other and see if we're a good fit to work together. If we decide we'd like to work together, we may start crafting some ideas about how specifically we're going to get started working in your goals. If you are a homework person, you'll likely leave with a homework assignment to work on between sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am a curious, open-minded, lifelong learner, and I am always learning and growing through education, training, reading, volunteering, building relationships, and seeking out new experiences. I am always seeking more skills and working to broaden my perspectives to give you the best therapy experience possible. There is so much to learn, and I am looking forward to learning and growing with you. I believe that all human beings deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, no exceptions. Whatever you're carrying around that you are afraid makes you weird, different, unlovable, that you feel shame about, that you are afraid people will reject you for, I welcome those parts of you to our work together. You are safe in your time with me. Those parts of you are safe, respected, and valued in our work together. Want to learn more about me? Visit me at https://www.sexualwellnesspa.com/! While you're there, you can check out my resources pages and book recommendations. I LOVE to share resources and information with others!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I enjoy helping folks identify how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected, and how we can make changes to what we are thinking and doing to help us shift our mood.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I enjoy helping folks better understand how trauma works in the brain, and how particular types of thinking patterns are common in trauma survivors, and can be targeted to help reduce trauma symptoms and gain more of a sense of control over our lives.

Couples Counseling

I enjoy helping folks in relationships learn how to both hear and understand and be heard and understood by their partner/s.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT contains so many wonderful tools to help us improve our ability to be mindful, manage distress, regulate emotions, and be more effective in our relationships.

Gender-affirming therapy

I love to co-create a safe space in which we can collaborate on your goals, however you identify and wherever you are in your personal growth process.
