Hello, my name is Chijioke Booker! Have you noticed your life seems to move without actually being able to take that first step? A cycle that you can't get out of? I work with individuals who want to regain and revive their sense of self in a world where it can feel isolating and alone. I help individuals who struggle with feelings of depression, anxiety, stress or the lost of control over who they are at the core. Together we will identify triggers and coping skills to decrease episodes of depression and anxiety. We will outline self-destructive behavior patterns and recreate roadmaps to avoid repeated unhealthy choices in once life. This is incorporated through talk-therapy and mindfulness techniques help individuals regain balance. When dealing with areas of conflict within your relationships, issues with attachment/adjustment issues, poor communication, life-transitions or creating a work-life balance therapy is for you. I am here to be your support individuals through this stage in your life. Therapy can be feel overwhelming and scary but it's the right step to revive the essence of who you are. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
I am a trained Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist, I believe that our thoughts, emotions and behaviors are interconnected. Oftentimes, there's a disconnection that causes unrealistic expectations and unhealthy behavior patterns. Within this approach, I hope to increase one's self-awareness and self-control of personal triggers. When you focus on external factors as a reason to feel, think and/or behave may causes a co-dependency on others to create the life that you want. I am a strong believer that you are the leader of your life and at times we lose site of that. Once you are able to understand, control of who you are and what you want of your life it will be a place of empowerment for self and those around you.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
Therapy is a opportunity to "Release" unhealthy thoughts and behaviors and "Revive" a new sense of self over one's cognitive, emotional and behavioral well-being. Being able to verbalize your concerns and challenging is a powerful tool to increase self-growth. Within our sessions, we will monitor your mood week to week, identify risky behavior patterns and help to recreate a healthier but realistic self. A client should be prepared to engage in sessions and complete homework (worksheets, journaling, exposure techniques, etc.) that will help reinforce what is discussed in sessions.

I am a grounded therapist who works closely with my clients. Often times people have a negative perspective of therapy and struggle to commit but I am committed to working with you TO challenge you to commit to helping yourself.
