About me

Welcome, and thank you for taking the courageous step to seek support. Starting therapy can feel daunting, and I want to acknowledge the strength it takes to explore this path. My name is Renee, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Florida. I am passionate about creating a safe, inclusive space for all clients. Currently, I specialize in working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community and women experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and related concerns. My therapeutic approach is eclectic and relaxed, tailored to support your unique goals. Before becoming licensed, I spent over nine years working as an advocate in a domestic violence shelter, where I specialized in trauma-informed care and used an empowerment-based model to support clients in building self-efficacy. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of South Florida in 2019, and since then, my professional experience has included working with individuals facing relationship challenges, crises, severe mental illness, Veteran-specific concerns, suicide prevention, trauma and general support for anxiety and depression. With this experience, I can confidently assist you in navigating your goals. Diversity and inclusion are core values in my practice, and I am committed to providing a respectful, affirming environment for every client. I look forward to walking alongside you on your healing journey.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our initial session will begin with brief introductions and the start of the intake process. This includes creating space for you to share your story so I can better understand your background and experiences. This narrative helps us begin to identify the roots of your concerns and collaboratively shape the goals you’d like to work toward in therapy. We’ll also explore what meaningful progress looks like for you and begin using a measurement-based care approach to track that progress over time. (Don't worry—I'll walk you through exactly what that means during our sessions!) Growth looks different for everyone, and there’s no one-size-fits-all path to healing. My role is to support, guide, and empower you as we navigate that journey together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

With over a decade of experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges, one of my greatest strengths as a therapist lies in my ability to genuinely listen and collaboratively develop a personalized treatment plan that supports meaningful change. I offer an inclusive, trauma-informed, and mindful approach to therapy—creating a space where clients feel seen, valued, and empowered. Through this process, many discover their inner strengths and build the confidence needed to trust themselves and pursue the changes they seek.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Anxiety. Depression. Intrusive thoughts. Feeling overwhelmed. Difficulty with boundaries and communication. Empowerment. These are words we hear often, but how do they relate to our own unique experiences? While awareness is an important first step, we don’t always have the tools to navigate what comes next. My role as a therapist is to support clients in identifying and understanding these challenges, and to equip them with practical tools and insights to move forward. Through an inclusive, trauma-informed approach, I offer a safe, collaborative space where we can explore these concerns together. Change and discomfort are never easy—but with support, growth becomes possible. In our sessions, you’ll find a nonjudgmental environment where you can begin to face these issues with clarity and confidence. I am currently accepting clients who are seeking treatment for PTSD/trauma.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have several years of experience utilizing CBT with clients to help with thought and behavior patterns that lead to distress. I approach this method in conjunction with mindfulness practice.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

When engaging with therapy, we will utilize mindfulness to help bring awareness to our thoughts, feelings and what is coming up within our bodies to help bring focus to the mind-body connection. I also utilize elements of yoga (I have a 200hr YTT certification) to compliment these practices.

Trauma Informed Care

In any modality I utilize, I approach it utilizing trauma informed care to provide compassionate and empathetic listening during our sessions.

Multicultural

As a LGBTQAI+ identified therapist, approaching therapy through an inclusive lens is of the upmost importance. Our experiences are often informed by our individual identities. It is important to factor this into therapy and have an understanding of how different systems intersect with different identities.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

Cognitive Processing Therapy is an evidenced based modality that helps clients process ands cope with the effects of a traumatic event. I am trained in this and working towards provider status currently.
