Most of us want to live a happy and meaningful life where we can enjoy what we do, feel valued and supported, and look forward to the future. Sometimes there are challenges that might make you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or helpless. I want to be there for you and support you in finding ways to overcome these obstacles. I will provide a secure space for you to feel comfortable being your true self, and together we will work collaboratively on processing the challenges you face and developing skills to manage and overcome these hindrances. I work with a wide range of clients; from children, adolescents, and their families to adult individuals and couples. I have a client-centered counseling style where I provide my clients with empathy and unconditional positive regard to help facilitate genuine change. I want to empower you and help you realize your true potential so you can live the life you want. I am also fluent in Mandarin Chinese and have experience with acculturation issues, cultural identity, as well as generational gaps between immigrant parents and their children.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I will ask what led them to consider starting therapy, what they are hoping to achieve, and ask them to share with me about their backgrounds. I will also let them know about my background, experience, and answer any questions they may have.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I'm very easy to talk to because I am considerate, compassionate, and empathetic.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Self-aware, insightful, resourceful, intelligent, open to change, and willing to do the work.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy combines cognitive therapy with behavior therapy by identifying maladaptive patterns of thinking, emotional responses, or behaviors and replacing them with more desirable patterns.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

This style of therapy provides clients with the tools and resources they need to understand themselves and what they need to achieve positive change in their lives.

Multicultural

Work with clients to understand the difficulties they are experiencing from the unique perspective of their cultures. The therapist takes into account the importance of cultural factors in helping clients address mental health problems or challenging life events.
