LPC, 18 years of experience
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with 18 years of experience supporting children, teens, adults, and older adults. I’ve worked in a wide range of mental health settings—including inpatient and outpatient programs, schools, juvenile detention, family-based services, universities, prisons, and private practice—which has given me a deep understanding of how mental health needs evolve across the lifespan. After seeing how limited access to care was in rural Pennsylvania, I became an early advocate for telemental health. Today, I offer both virtual and in-person counseling, giving clients the flexibility to choose what feels most comfortable and accessible for them. Starting my own practice during the pandemic allowed me to create a healthier work-life balance while dedicating my full attention to providing compassionate, high-quality care. My goal is to meet you where you are, help you feel understood, and support you in building the tools you need to move forward with confidence and peace.
During the first session, I will evaluate your presenting problems and complete assessments. At this point, we will determine if we would be a good fit. If we are both in agreement to move forward with treatment, we will collaborate on a treatment plan to work on together. We will discuss frequency and length of treatment. If either parties determine this is not a good fit, the goal is to find you a therapist that can better suit your needs. I have a plethora of referral resources to best meet your needs.
Ability to take feedback and learn and grow every day.
If you’re exploring therapy because you’ve experienced trauma, you’re not alone. I, too, have faced my own trauma, and I understand how heavy, confusing, and isolating it can feel. Because of this, I approach therapy from a deeply human place — grounded, compassionate, and focused on healing from a sober, clear-minded lens. My work isn’t about quick fixes, bandaids, or shortcuts. Trauma deserves real care and intentional healing, not rushed sessions or temporary solutions. If you’re hoping for a medication-only approach, or believe everything can be resolved in one to three sessions, I may not be the right fit for what you're seeking. But — if you are ready to show up for yourself… If you want a safe space to process, learn, and build coping tools… If you’re looking for a therapist who truly understands trauma and will walk alongside you with honesty, respect, and commitment… Then I would be honored to support you. Together, we can work toward reducing the impact of trauma, strengthening emotional regulation, and creating the peace you’ve been striving for.
I am certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) through PESI. Using a workbook adapted by Marsha Linehan, I help clients regulate emotions, improve interpersonal skills, practice mindfulness, and build distress tolerance. My primary goal in DBT is to promote acceptance and validation of who you are, while exploring the challenges and benefits of change. To be a good candidate for DBT, clients must be self-harm free and in a safe environment.
I am EMDR informed and currently working toward certification. Using EMDR, I help clients reduce distress symptoms related to traumatic events through bilateral eye stimulation. Sessions are conducted via a virtual platform, where we navigate the process together. For those with Apple devices, I can recommend EMDR tappers that use vibration for added support during sessions.
As a clinician who offers virtual play based therapy, I have adapted a variety of tools and activities, including Uno, Battleship, sand tray, dollhouse, Legos, and puppets, to enhance therapy sessions. In addition, I have an in person office in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania with some toys as well including a kitchen set, dollhouse, legos, and other games. If your child currently attends Hazelton Area School District, I cover three elementary schools as well with toys allowing for children to incorporate play into the therapeutic setting.
I use the Gottman Method, including the Four Horsemen and their antidotes, to help improve relationships.
My practicum student is most interested in utilizing this treatment modality with clients.

Much better than my previous therapist. I feel like she really listened and gave me great feedback.
