Hi, I'm Gabriella, I have been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) since 2013, but I have been in the mental health field since 2006. We all know that in recent years, specifically starting in 2020, our life as we knew it drastically changed. Our relationships with our family, friends, coworkers and even ourselves appeared to stall indefinitely. We had to learn to maneuver in different ways to try and have a sense of "normalcy." But as we tried to navigate this new way of life, our mental health has suffered. We have noticed that depression, anxiety, and relationship/interpersonal issues have been rising because we have isolated ourselves for so long. As people, we are social beings and tend to gravitate towards social situations. Within the last year, rules and mandates have eased, and we are resuming to our "new normal," and maybe we are feeling hesitant and vulnerable to step out. Reaching out for help is very difficult but the most rewarding decisions you make. We can work together to make step by step goals so you can achieve your success.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
On our first session will consist of an initial intake. Of course, we will introduce ourselves and I will ask what brings you to therapy. In that initial phase, I will ask you questions about your biopsychsocial history. That will include but not be limited to past mental health history, substance abuse history, and educational history. I will also ask what you hope to achieve in therapy sessions because your input in your journey is important.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My specialties include anxiety/stress, depression, and coping with life stressors. I have worked with individuals who have experienced trauma as well. As we delve into your area of concern, I will use the treatment techniques and modalities that will be the most effective for that individuals.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy is a science based approach that can challenge thoughts and beliefs in order to change the behavior. I have used CBT in a variety of clients that have been diagnosed with depression and anxiety. Understanding the thought process and how different perspectives can be the vehicle for change in behavior.
