I have over 18 years of experience working as a counselor, mentor, and coach to clients of all ages and backgrounds. From traumatized child soldiers in Liberia, to disenchanted newlyweds in the United States, every one of my clients has changed me for the better and made me the counselor that I am today. I have counseled clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship issues, and family conflict. I am especially passionate about empowering clients to become the very best version of themselves. I love watching people shed the wounds and lies that they’ve been carrying for years and step into the lives they were meant to lead. My approach to counseling combines Client Centered therapy’s unconditional positive regard with the results-oriented goals of Cognitive Behavior Therapy. I want your counseling experience to be as therapeutic as possible and will often give you assignments to work on between sessions so that you can feel better quickly! No one wants to stay miserable longer than they must! You will not be a passive participant in our sessions- you will be challenged and pushed to be more than you ever thought possible. I am proud of you for seeking to better your life. Change can be difficult, but also extremely exciting and rewarding. I look forward to making this journey with you!
In our first session together, we'll take some time to get to know each other and then I'll ask you to talk about the specific issues that are bringing you to counseling at this time. I know that first sessions can be anxiety-provoking for clients, so I do my very best to make sure it's an easy, comfortable process.
Having been a counselor for over 20 years, I continuously hear that my compassion and easy-going approach help clients heal and grow more than they ever thought possible.
My ideal client is very motivated to feel better quickly and is willing to put in the hard work to make that happen!
I love to see couples come in and work through their issues to strengthen or rebuild their relationship!
Changing our thoughts always changes our feelings. CBT is my go-to method when working with clients.
