Thank you for considering me as your counselor. I am a husband and father to 5 children and I enjoy spending time with daily. I have spent my career working towards helping others live the life they want to live through the many tools and techniques I have researched and learned. I originally started as a mechanical engineer and still enjoy working with my hands and on cars and other mechanical things. I decided to become a counselor when I realized I could help others in ways that most people could not. I do so by listening to understand and then applying the tools I have learned in a way that is practical for the person, couple, or family I have the honor of helping. I believe that I can help anyone who is seeking to work through the burdens they are carrying.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is about getting to know one another and for you to ensure you are confident that I can help you. I will work to get a better understanding of what you are wanting help with and we will build a plan to help you work through it. All this while building a therapeutic relationship focused on ensuring you reach your goals. By the end of the session you should be hopeful and feel like we are headed in the direction you feel will lead to your success.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Clients often say that they look forward to each session, feel like I am able to help them find actionable things to work on and know that they can work through things successfully after sessions with me. I help people recognize their ability to work through any issues. Most people who have struggled in counseling in the past tell me they find success with me and that upon completion of therapy consistently they feel prepared, confident, and ready for a brighter future for the first time in many years.

My treatment methods

EMDR

Are you having nightmares and flashbacks about things from your past? Do you constantly feel on edge or avoid people or places. Maybe you have tried other methods of counseling in the past or want to work through it but are not sure counseling can help. EMDR is a great option as it helps you process through negative cognitions and can help you overcome fears and nightmares that you have been struggling with. My clients report feeling relief and being able to return to enjoying things they never thought they could enjoy again.

Christian Counseling

As a Christian counselor, I provide compassionate support and guidance to individuals seeking to navigate life's challenges through a faith-based perspective. By integrating Christian principles with therapeutic techniques, I help clients achieve mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. My goal is to walk alongside you, offering wisdom and hope, as we work together to foster healing, growth, and a deeper connection with God.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Do you struggle with thoughts and feelings and feel stuck. Are you often thinking that your past or future controls you. Are you worried about never meeting your goals and that people only see you based on what you give. If so, Acceptance and commitment therapy is a great option as it focuses on process over goals and identifies things you already hold important in your life as the building blocks to your success. I have worked with many clients who were struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, grief, stress, and psychosis. My clients have reported finding this unique approach as a great benefit and being able to use it in their daily lives.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

It is great when our thoughts are beneficial and help us work through tough situations however sometimes we don't see things as clearly as we would like. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar, psychosis, and other mental health conditions CBT can help. We can process through thoughts that are not beneficial and identify goals and objectives that help you focus on what you have control over and actions that help you manage life and be more successful and fulfilled.
