Hello my name is Felicia Murrell. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of California. I have worked in the mental health field for over 25 years. I obtained my bachelor's in human services from University of Phoenix in 2012 and a masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in 2013. I have worked with various age groups, cultures, ethnicities and backgrounds, including LGBTQA, Native Americans, Autism and persons with disabilities. My specialties are depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, low self-esteem and addictions. I also have experience in African American and LGBTQIA. We all have defining moments in our lives. These moments can be both rewarding and difficult to maneuver. In difficult circumstances, we are compelled to dig deep and discover how to evolve to our best selves. Digging deep is not always easy and requires a lot of fortitude, inner strength, self-reflection, dedication and guidance. What makes these particular instances of self-exploration unique, is the ability to understand that sometimes you need help from a genuine nonjudgmental approachable professional other. That is what you will find in me. I don't use a cookie cutter tactics to work with clients because I'm not a cookie cutter therapist. What I mean by this is, I don't treat all of my clients in the same manner. I take my time to get to know my clients individually and work with my clients to learn their strengths, triggers and talents. You are the expert over your life, so I work with you to foster positive behaviors, heathy habits and positive mindsets that will assist in decreasing negative symptoms and increase the likelihood of living a more enriched and productive life. This is my passion, I hope to assist you in finding and or positively sustaining yours.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session I will gather information related to client and the history of client and client challenges. I will address any questions clients may have and the cost and benefits of therapy. We will discuss appointment days and times. This will also be an opportunity for clients to get to know me and my style of therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel my greatest strengths as a provider are my approachability, compassion, understanding, sense of humor, comprehensive approach and being a great listener. I also am very skilled in assisting people with finding their purpose and understanding the importance of giving grace to self and others.
