Hi, I’m Kendal McDowell and I have years of experience working with teens and older, with a primary focus on working with college students and college athletes. Having been a college athlete myself, I'm familiar with the joys and stressors of collegiate life. College can be an exciting and eye opening experience, but sometimes it can also open our eyes to some things within ourselves or those around us we may not have noticed before.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

We’ll work to pin point what’s really going on. We’ll look deeper into areas that range from: relationships, anxiety, depression, self awareness and acceptance. I’m here to help discover what’s causing symptoms or distress, help to grow understanding of anxiety, depression, and emotional awareness. We’ll spend time getting to know who you are, what could be missing to bring more joy and happiness to life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with such a wide range of mental health symptoms for a number of years, I'm able and ready to sit with any individual who is wanting to talk about any issue. I've also spent years working with college students and college athletes and am informed with the difficult transitions and hard decisions college students face.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with young adults and older who have usually reached a point where they know "something has to change" but may not be sure where to start. Sometimes we can feel stuck with these emotions or in these hard situations- I'm here to help navigate this with you and work towards a more positive and productive outcome! We will work together in pin pointing what's really going on and what that may mean moving forward. My clients are usually wanting to explore more aspects of themselves and grow a greater understanding of symptoms, emotions, coping skills, and who they are.

I utilize this method in supporting individuals to discover what that missing piece may be, diving deeper into who an individual truly identifies as, and how to create meaning and confidence in what we find.
