I believe in meeting people where they are, perpetuating meaningful and supportive connection. My specialty includes working with clients who are struggling with substance use disorders, experiencing abuse, neglect, and trauma and who are suffering from the consequences of that trauma. I will help you understand your specific trauma responses and how to change them. You can find relief. You can heal. My goal is to support you in making changes in your life that will lead to positive outcomes and a fulfilling life. I have experience treating anxiety, depression, shame and self-doubt, substance use, and individuals who have experienced or have caused harm in relationships.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I believe that healing occurs in therapy when there is a safe and trusting connection between the therapist and client. I prioritize supporting the person sitting with me through listening with an empathic and nonjudgmental stance. My therapeutic style is integrative; I work with each person to find an approach that meets their needs. In doing so, I draw on a variety of approaches including relational, emotion-focused, mindfulness-based, dialectical behavior, attachment-based, body awareness, and cognitive behavioral.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, relational, emotion-focused, mindfulness-based, attachment-based, motivational interviewing, and body awareness. I work collaboratively with my clients, meeting them where they are, to reveal and dismantle the mechanisms that inhibit healthy and meaningful relationships with others, and most importantly, within themselves. Areas of interest include: survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) and partners who have acted harmfully in relationships, mood disorders, substance use and co-occurring disorders. My goal is to support clients to express themselves and become aware of their own inner strengths. I recognize that therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and will work with you to create a tailored treatment to fit your needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe in individualized healing; that no two people are the same but we learn from each others stories. We will decide together what works best for you to improve your quality of life, health, and wellness. I have worked in many varied settings and with many different populations including individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders, survivors of interpersonal violence, trauma and PTSD, personality disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, etc. I believe in trauma-informed treatment and affirming of all identities, including LGBTQ+. I am experienced working with both survivors, as well as partners who have acted harmfully. I hold my clients’ stories with warmth and empathy as we process through pain and move towards healing.
